Pine'eer Crafts Festival

Spare Time Creations/ Eldersburg Embroidery will be vending at the 38th annual Pine'eer Craft Festival at Ocean Pines near Ocean City MD  on Saturday, Aug 1, 9-3:00. Booth B10.  I'm looking forward to having a great day as usual.  Stop by if you are in the area.  This is a great opportunity to see in person a lot of the items that I sell on my Etsy shops.

Personal Update

            It has really been a long time since my last posting.  So, let me bring you up to date.

            The small business where I worked for 5 years went out of business.  I am now retired for the second, and hopefully, last time.  In retirement, I have been busier than ever with church, housework, de-stashing the house, home improvements and repairs, and taking vacations and short trips with my husband.  This has also been a time for reflection on next steps. 

            Working full-time for oneself is the new venture.  As for crafting, creating jewelry somehow took a back seat.  While going through my craft supplies, I “found” yarn for crocheted shawls; so that is what I have been doing lately- crocheting shawls and revisiting crochet as a pastime.  I also opened a second Etsy.com shop- this one devoted solely to machine embroidery work.  A lot of time has been devoted to setting up the new shop and making inventory.  While going through my craft supplies again and reorganizing my work space, it was inspiring to re-discover my stash of beads and beading supplies—and what I intended to do with them when I purchased them.  So, I am beading again.   Now that I no longer work on Saturdays, I plan to sell my creations at more craft shows and festivals.

          Lastly, I have been devoting more time to my Mary Kay cosmetics business.  

       

Pine'eer Arts & Craft Festival

If your are in the Ocean City, Maryland area on Saturday, August 2, visit the 37th Annual Pine'eer Arts & Crafts Festival in Ocean Pines, MD.  The festival is held in White Horse Park, 239 Ocean Parkway, Ocean Pines, MD.  FYI, Ocean Pines is less than 20 miles east of Ocean City.

The festival normally has close to 100 vendors selling a wide variety of arts and crafts as well as food.  I'll be there selling all of my handmade wares- jewelry, knitted year-round scarves, knitted shawls, embroidered canvas tote bags, and machine embroidered guest towels.  My vendor space is B10.  Stop by!

Update

Gosh.  Where has the time gone since my last post?

I've been busy creating new projects.  Created a new Etsy website.  Been on vacation.  And, doing a lot of jewelry repairs.  Creating the new website has been the most time consuming. And, it still is not finished.  I have no banner for the shop.

My original Etsy shop- www.sparetimebyyvette.etsy.com now features just my wearable creations- jewelry, knitted year-round scarves, and knitted shawls.  It made sense to splinter off the non-wearable items; so, the embroidered canvas tote bags and machine embroidered guest towels have been moved to a new shop featuring my embroidery work- www.Eldersburgembroidery.etsy.com.  I'm still in the process of photographing and posting new items for each site; so, visit both shops often.
 

Open House

The Sunday after Easter, I will be hosting an Open House featuring my hand crafted jewelry and all of my other craft items- colorful hand knitted year-round scarves, hand knitted shawls, handmade canvas tote bags with machine embroidery designs on the pocket, and fingertip guest towels with machine embroidered designs.  Plus, I am busy making new items for the spring- most of which will not be available for sale on my website- I won't have time to post them on Etsy.

A New Year

 It's Spring- a new year for crafters.  I've been busy getting ready.  Upcoming events where I will be vending are posted under "Show Schedule" in the right-hand column.

On my website, you will notice that embroidered hand towels are being phased out.  They will be available by custom order only.  Embroidered fingertip guest towels are new.  Guest towels are standard size- 11" x 18", cotton terry loops on the bottom side, and plush velour on the top side.  Most of the previous hand towel embroidery designs are available on the guest towels; but many new designs are being added.  Why the change?  The embroidered towels are intended to be used as decorator items in the powder room or guest bathroom- more like fancy guest towels.  So, I've been busy adding this new product line to my inventory.  www.sparetimebyyvette.etsy.com.
